Sol Wilson’s daughter & granddaughters found 47 paintings in the attic of Wilson’s home in recent years. These were paintings that Wilson had saved for himself, not wanting to part with them.

The Portrait was one of the 47 paintings Sol did not want to sell. Wilson was known for landscapes and only small figures. This portrait was unexpected when found, and more lovely than anyone had thought possible. This portrait is a real prize and is considered his best.
